TG DGP warns officers against discipline

As Telangana Special Police officers joined the protest launched by their wives, DGP Jitender issued a statement calling on them to stay away and warning them that indiscipline would attract criminal action against them. TGSP officers from different battalions today took out protest marches in uniform at various places in the state, demanding fair treatment following a bullet fired by a senior police officer at their wives during a counseling session. He had wondered aloud who had asked women to marry Telangana Special Police officers. Meanwhile, BRS leaders also criticized the Congress government following protests by special police officers.

In an appeal made by the DGP, following protests by special police officers, he mentioned that the salaries and allowances of police personnel were the highest compared to other states. They also get additional surrender and surrender leave as they are on duty even during festivals. He said: “In such circumstances, it is not appropriate for TGSP personnel to protest on the streets. The TGSP is a uniformed and disciplined force and the image of the police must be protected.”

The DGP also urged them to raise these issues in an appropriate forum instead of taking to the streets. “This is about appealing to TGSP personnel and their families as senior police officers, we are examining the grievances on merits, personnel are being asked to carry out their duties as usual. If there are any concerns, they can be raised at the Darbar with the Officers/Commanders/ADGP, TGSP and other senior officers,” he said in the statement.

He also warned: “…indiscipline within the uniformed forces is a very serious problem which is subject to the provisions of the Police Force (Restriction of Rights) Act and the Police (Incitement) Act. to disaffection) and which is subject to sanctions in accordance with the law. »

The wives of police special constables had started the protests following a change in leave policy. Former officers from the battalion were allowed to leave after 15 days, but this interval was increased to 26. Although this was later left unresolved, the situation worsened further when a senior police officer apparently said to the wives, during the council, that he had asked them to marry the TGSP agent.

Meanwhile, BRS president KT Rama Rao wrote on ‘X’: “Fantastic governance in Telangana. The police rebel against the police. “Elect a clown, expect a circus.” Another BRS leader, T Harish Rao, wrote: “Policemen are raising slogans like workers. » There was a scuffle between the police and the officers’ family members, as the latter wanted to stage a protest on the Nagarjunasagar highway and were prevented from doing so.
