Where is the former CIA case manager today?

With Netflix’s “Alien Investigation” taking a deep dive into some of the most shocking and baffling UFO encounters in human history, we get a documentary series that can only be described as gripping. Indeed, it incorporates not only archive footage, but also exclusive interviews to shed light on extraterrestrial events, which journalist George Knapp does with the help of his contacts. Among them is in fact Douglas “Doug” Laux, a former case manager at the Central Intelligence Agency.

Douglas Laux’s career at the CIA lasted 7 years

Although a native of Ohio, Douglas graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and East Asian studies with an emphasis in Japanese language. He actually managed to do this despite apparently being raised in the poorest trailer park in Indiana, with the help of his steadfastly supportive family. However, as he always had an interest in government agencies and possessed the appropriate skills, he quickly managed to secure a position at the CIA after a short stint at the shipping company DHL. By his own accounts, he was essentially a spy for the organization for over seven years, leaving after experiencing intense life experiences and dealing with bureaucratic issues.

Douglas never hesitated to acknowledge that he was an officer in the Near East Division and that he flew several missions in Afghanistan as well as the Middle East. In fact, he worked undercover against the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, only to become frustrated with the bureaucratic (rather than humanitarian) handling of the Syrian civil war, leading him to resign in February 2013. However, he remained involved in this world until 2016, as he later served in Joint Special Operations Command.

Douglas Laux is now a proud author and media personality

Even though Douglas has long given details about his time in the CIA and some of the operations he was involved in, there is no denying that he cannot reveal everything due to his depth. However, he recognizes that to be an intelligence officer, a person must both demonstrate the calmness to handle situations that go wrong and have the courage to independently overcome obstacles that arise. It’s something he continues to apply in his life to this day, especially as he is an independent investigator, speaker, actor, executive at Discovery and NBC Universal, as well as a producer for Netflix.

In fact, shortly after Douglas published his New York Times bestselling memoir “Left of Boom: How a Young CIA Case Officer Penetrated the Taliban and Al-Qaeda” in 2016 – the first book written by a case officer CIA file who served in the field during the Global War on Terrorism – he became involved in the entertainment industry. He actually created, wrote, produced and starred in six episodes of Discovery Channel’s “Finding Escobar’s Millions” in 2017. He later served as a reviewer on Bravo’s “Spy Games” and is now the host from the exclusive Audible podcast. Solve black dahlia.

What’s even more imperative to note is that Douglas is also a photographer and philanthropist, endeavors that he doesn’t really spotlight on his public platforms despite his great reputation. According to reports, his photos were actually featured in a Playboy magazine article titled In The Path of the Totality: Notes of a Veteran Chasing the Eclipse in September 2017. As for his philanthropic work, he reportedly started a non-profit organization profit called CVLSRVNT in 2017. 2019 to better support active duty Ohioans deployed overseas.

Last but not least, it is imperative to note that even though George keeps his personal life away from the limelight, he is also a public speaker. He actually specializes in discussing national security, foreign affairs with the Middle East and Asia, real-life espionage, literature, as well as cinema, and the dangers of social media in terms way in which they can be used as a monitoring device. Honestly, this California resident seems to be doing great right now, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store next.
