Obaseki dissolved his cabinet on Friday, November 8, 2024 before the inauguration.

“This holiday season, they will want to spend as much money as possible to confuse people. They will have difficulty changing their perception.

“We have almost N27 billion to pay for the projects and bonds, but they started screwing it up and they borrowed money for the inauguration, which is going to cost them between N2 billion and N5 billion. This is the money they will take out of the Treasury first,” he said.

Speaking further, Obaseki assured people that he would not be far from the party as he would never leave it but would stay to give advice.

He also assured party leaders and faithful that the party would get back its stolen mandate.

“We will get back our stolen mandate, for the good of Nigeria, because if we allow the APC to continue with our stolen mandate, it will mark the end of democracy in Nigeria.

“This fight is not for our candidate but for the people of Nigeria and the democracy of our country,” he added.

Also speaking, Asue Ighodalo, the party’s candidate for the September 21, 2024 governorship election, however charged the party to be ready for an uphill battle and the journey to reclaim the stolen mandate.

“We hope they will respond to our petition next week. We also have five days to respond to their petition.

“That will take us around November 19, 2024. We will then begin what is called the pre-hearing before the big hearing which could begin by the end of November.

“Our lawyers are working and ready to respond to their petition. Times are tough and we are going through difficult times, we must remain steadfast and strong as we travel the journey to recover our stolen mandate,” he said.
