Race held in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Congressman Don Bacon has once again been re-elected in Nebraska’s “blue dot” district.

AP and NBC News announced the race Friday evening.

Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District rematch between Republican Don Bacon and democrat Tony Vargas has remained a close contest since results began being released Tuesday evening. With only a few votes left to count, it sometimes seemed like the outcome could go either way; but previous voting trends in the areas yet to be counted pushed Bacon to victory in 2022.

This happened again this year.

Nebraskans also did their part to help the US Senate turns red Tuesday, keeping the two outgoing Republican presidents in power.

Nebraska’s senior senator had a very close race with electoral tallies putting Debbie Fischer And Dan Osborn neck and neck for much of the night. She finally took the lead and won.

Nebraska voters sent U.S. Sen. Pete Ricketts return to Washington DC for the next two years; the race was canceled in his favor early Tuesday evening.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, AP and several major networks joined Fox News to calling for the presidential race for former President Trump.

Ancient President Trump won Iowa despite the controversial poll results that dropped over the weekend, indicating the state may turn to Harris. He also retained the lead in District 1, winning just after midnight; and firmly guarded District 3. Vice President Harris won District 2. Each district allocates a single electoral vote to Nebraska.

The former president secured the necessary 270 electoral votes overnight, with the tally reaching 292 later in the day, with only four other states still counting.

Nebraskans also voted in favor of repeal school vouchers but kept existing restrictions on abortion on the state’s books; there will be no exploration of the totals to determine which of the two oppose abortion measures won. Meanwhile, both medical marijuana measures passed without issue, although its appearance on the ballot continues to raise concerns. navigate the courts.
