The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently published A recall of two food supplements, ZoomMax and ZapMaxdue to the presence of undisclosed and potentially harmful ingredients.

Both products marketed as men’s health supplements intended to improve performance and energy contain sildenafil and diclofenac. Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is a prescription medication for erectile dysfunction. Diclofenac is an FDA-approved medication for pain and inflammation. None of these substances were listed on the product labels.

Problems with these products

Sildenafil may interact dangerously with nitrates found in some prescription medications, potentially causing a life-threatening drop in blood pressure.

Diclofenac may increase the risk of cardiovascular events and serious gastrointestinal problems.
