Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee and surrogate for Kamala Harris Lindy Li took out his frustrations on Fox News Saturday, claiming the Harris campaign was a “billion-dollar disaster” and placing the blame on Joe Biden.

Li, a Harris donor, told Fox News host Will Cain that the problems began with Biden’s rapid support of Harris on the day he left the presidential race.

“In fact, I think President Biden, who fully supported her 30 minutes after she dropped out, I think that was a big ‘F you’ to the party. “If you don’t want me, here’s someone you might not like, do it,” Li said.

Cain asked if she meant Biden was “sticking to the party with Kamala Harris?”

“Kind of like sticking to the man,” Li replied.

Li cited Michelle and Barack Obama’s delay in supporting Harris as a sign that Democrats were stunned by Biden’s early support. The former president and first lady waited three days to endorse Harris. “It was the silence heard around the world.”

Biden’s endorsement came after widespread discussion among party leaders and members of the media about the idea of ​​some sort of open mini-primary, but the president’s early support thwarted that idea.

Li added: “The truth is this is just an epic disaster, it’s a billion dollar disaster. Actually, it was 1 billion, 18 million, I think, right? They have a debt of 20 or 18 million dollars. It’s incredible, and I’ve raised millions. I have friends who I have to be accountable to and explain what happened, because I told them it was a race for the margin of error.

“I was promised, (Harris campaign chair) Jen O’Malley Dillon promised all of us that Harris would win,” Li said. “She even released videos saying Harris would win. I believed it, my donors believed it and so they wrote massive checks. I just feel like a lot of us have been misled.
