INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One person was killed in a shooting on the city’s west side Saturday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Around 5:55 p.m. Saturday, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of West Michigan Street for a report of a person shot. It is a residential area located to the west of the city. Police arrived on scene and found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
