Trump teases he would bail out Harris campaign debts for the sake of ‘unity’ in latest troll

President-elect Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to unify the country during his second term as president. On Saturday, he came up with a new idea to do just that, saying he would pay off Democrats’ debts.

The Harris-Walz campaign is reportedly $20 million in debt, having raised more than $1 billion, and had $118 million in the bank as of October 16, according to Politico reporter Christopher Cadelago.

In the name of unity, or more likely in an epic troll, Trump is saying people should pitch in and bail out the vice president’s campaign.

“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 presidential election (sic), raising a record amount of money, did not have many dollars,” wrote Trump on his social network. Truth media platform.

“Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult time, I highly recommend you, as a Party and in the interest of the UNITY we desperately need , to do it.

“We have a lot of money left since our biggest asset in the campaign was Earned Media, and it doesn’t cost much. LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Earned media is essentially free media coverage, which Trump says he benefited from in abundance throughout his historic campaign. Trump’s earned media took the form of viral social media posts, free interviews, and hosting dozens of rallies that generated their own news stories and headlines.

Questions arise as to how the Harris-Walz campaign was able to spend so much money while suffering such a resounding defeat at the hands of the former president, who won a landslide victory, sweeping every battleground state as well as the popular vote. Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris-Walz campaign to confirm the $20 million figure but did not receive a response.

The Washington Examiner released a report Friday detailing how the Harris campaign spent its billion-dollar war chest, with one particular expense raising eyebrows.

“The Harris campaign spent six figures building a set for her appearance on the popular podcast “Call His Dad” with host Alex Cooper,” The Examiner wrote. “The interview was published in October and was reportedly filmed in a Washington, D.C., hotel room.”

However, the episode failed to exceed one million audiences. It has been viewed 822,000 times since it was posted online on October 6, compared to Trump’s October 25 appearance on Rogan which has over 47 million views on YouTube.

Lindy Li, head of fundraising for the Harris campaign, told “Fox & Friends Weekend” that the campaign ended in an “epic disaster.”

“The truth is, this is just an epic disaster. It’s a billion-dollar disaster,” Li said Saturday morning, summing up the Harris campaign’s outcome.

The DNC member said she raised money for the campaign on the assumption that the election was a “race for the margin of error“.

“I’ve raised millions of dollars. I have friends who I have to be accountable to and explain what happened because I told them it was a race for the margin of error. We promised me, (Harris campaign chairwoman) Jen O’Malley Dillon promised all of us that Harris would win. She even released videos showing that Harris would win. I believed her, my donors. believed her and so they wrote massive checks.
