New York-listed investment bank Evercore has sold its stake in Simon Mordant’s Luminis Partners, ending a nearly decade-long stake in the Australian consultancy, just as bankers predict a resumption of transactions.

Evercore – nicknamed Goldman North because of its success, its headquarters in uptown New York and its tendency to hire Goldman Sachs alumni – sold its nearly 20 percent stake in September, according to the documents filed with the American regulator. Luminis paid a nominal amount to repurchase the shares.
