Biden applauds Trump in fiery speech in Pittsburgh: ‘He’s a loser’

President Biden took aim at former President Trump during a campaign event in Pennsylvania Saturday, using his remarks to portray his predecessor as an anti-union leader who, if re-elected, would roll back some of the union’s hardest-won gains.

Speaking at an event in Pittsburgh, Biden repeatedly described Trump as a “loser” who doesn’t care about union workers and would be happy to do so. remove benefits like health care and pension plans if he wins the presidency a second time.

“Donald Trump is a loser,” Biden told the audience. “He’s a losing candidate – and he’s a losing man.”

“I’ve never been more direct,” Biden added. “But I’m telling you (Trump) wants to make sure that you bring people down. He thinks the best way to move forward is to push people down.”

His remarks were aimed specifically at Philadelphia’s union workers, a group that until recently was a reliable support base for Democratic candidates. But union politics have shifted in recent years, particularly in Rust Belt states, to favor Trump — with many workers citing his approachable rhetoric and appeal to working-class voters.

Some long-standing unions have flatly refused to support a 2024 presidential candidate, citing the ideological division of their members.

Many also remain lukewarm toward Harris’ campaign, viewing it as having done too little to win their vote in the months since she entered the presidential race.

Biden’s speech on Saturday attempted to rectify that – although most of his remarks focused on criticizing the former president, which he says has attempted “51 times” to eliminate health care coverage for union employees.

“The last thing we need is for Trump to be elected and take away everything we’ve done,” he said. “How many of you have a pension now? How many of your families have a pension?” » asked Biden.

Trump, he said, “opposes it.”

He also indirectly attacked the Tesla founder and Trump ally. Elon Muskcriticizing an anonymous “illegal worker” who used his funds and public persona to strain in name of the former president.

“It turns out the richest man in the world, now an ally (of Trump), was an illegal worker here,” Biden told the audience, although he did not mention Musk by name.

The Biden administration did not immediately respond to a request for clarification from Fox News Digital on the president’s remark.

Musk is one of Trump’s most high-profile supporters and has, to date, donated more than $118 million to a super PAC supporting his re-election.

The relentless criticism in the speech was something new from Biden, now a lame-duck candidate in his final two months as president.

And that knowledge may have invigorated the outgoing president, whose voice grew louder as his speech continued.

“There’s still a lot to do, and Kamala is going to get it done,” Biden said, once again imploring the crowd to vote in the Nov. 5 election.

“I don’t know any man who thought less of the American worker,” Biden said of Trump. He is a man “without character” and who “doesn’t care about union members”.
