While the country waits to see which party control the House of Representativespresident-elect Donald TrumpThe administration of Russia appears.

On Sunday evening, he announced the former director of Customs and Immigration Enforcement Tom Homan will be part of the administration as “border czar”.

representative Elise Stefanik, RY, was nominated by Trump to be ambassador to the United Nations and she accepted the offer, USA TODAY reported Monday.

Trump said Saturday that neither the former Nikki Haley, United Nations Ambassador or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will have a role at the start of the new administration. He has yet to name the official roles of key campaign allies Robert F. Kennedy Jr.and billionaire Elon Muskwhat he promised to do.

Here’s what else we know about the new administration:

Trump names Tom Homan ‘border czar’

In an article published on Sunday Truth Social, Trump said Homan would oversee eviction policy for undocumented immigrants and aviation security. Mass deportations have been a central campaign promise of Trump, who added that Hogan would lead in deporting undocumented immigrants back to “their home countries.”

“I have known Tom for a long time, and there is no one better to keep order and control our borders,” Trump said in his message.

Homan sparked controversy during Trump’s first term when he implemented the “zero tolerance” policy that separated migrant families.

Rep. Elise Stefanik Joins Staff

Trump named Stefanik, the GOP’s rising star, as his next United States Ambassador to the United Nations.

She has been one of Trump’s staunchest allies on Capitol Hill and was among those rumored to be a potential vice presidential candidate for Trump’s 2024 election. Position requires approval of the Senate.

“I am honored to nominate President Elise Stefanik to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Elise is an incredibly strong, tough and smart fighter for America First,” Trump said in a statement to USA TODAY.

Who could be named Treasury Secretary?

These are some of the candidates for the post of Treasury Secretary, according to media reports. The responsibilities of the Secretary of the Treasury include formulating and advising financial, economic and tax policy both domestically and internationally:

  • Scott Bessent: The longtime hedge fund investor is among the top candidates for Treasury secretary, according to Politico. Two sources close to Trump said Reuters that Bessent met the president-elect on Friday.
  • John Paulson: The hedge fund manager and founder of New York investment management firm Paulson & Co. is also a candidate for the position, according to Reuters. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Paulson was a candidate to head the Treasury Department, with the billionaire investor adding that he would work with Musk to cut spending if he claimed the role.
  • Larry Kudlow: The Fox Business financial commentator could also have taken a shot at this position, according to Reuters and Politico. He previously served as director of the National Economic Council between 2018 and 2021, and Politico reported that he had been part of an outside group promoting Trump’s policies ahead of a second administration.
  • Robert Lighthizer: The lawyer and former business leader’s name was also listed for the role, according to Reuters and Politico. Having served in the first Trump administration as U.S. trade representative, he helped oversee Trump’s aggressive use of tariffs and his efforts to deal with China, Canada and Mexico.

Who could be appointed attorney general?

After Trump’s numerous accusations that The Department of Justice was persecuting himhe is now responsible for selecting an attorney general to lead the department. He is expected to choose someone who is very loyal to him, experts have previously told USA TODAY, and the the following people are taken into consideration:

  • Senator Mike Lee: Utah senator considered most important
  • John Ratcliffe: Former Trump Director of National Intelligence and former GOP House member from Texas
  • Jeffrey Clark: Former Deputy Attorney General
  • U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon: Trump-appointed judge who rejected accusations he mishandled classified documents after leaving the White House
  • Mike Davis: Former Nomination Advisor to the Senate Judiciary Committee
  • Marc Paoletta: Former 10-year House committee advisor and White House veteran.

What we know so far about the Trump administration:

  • Chief of staff: Trump named his top campaign adviser Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, the first woman in history to hold that title. The Florida political consultant largely stays out of the spotlight, but is credited with helping lead Trump’s political comeback.
  • Ambassador to the UN: Trump nominated Elise Stefanik, a five-term Republican representing a northern New York district, as his choice for U.N. ambassador. She is the chairwoman of the House Republican Conference and a former vice-presidential candidate for Trump.
  • “Tsar of the borders”: Trump appointed Tom Homan oversee deportation policy and aviation security. Homan was a border patrol agent for 34 years and served in the first Trump administration as acting director of ICE. He sparked controversy due to strict immigration enforcement, including the “zero tolerance” policy that separated undocumented immigrant families.
