The Flames offense has completely dried up

The Calgary Flames have had an incredible start to the season, posting a 5-0-1 record. They have scored 24 goals during this period. Jonathan Huberdeau, Rasmus Andersson, Connor Zary, Martin Pospisil and Andrei Kuzmenko had at least one point per game.

Since then, the offense has completely dried up and their record proves it. Since October 22, the Flames are 3-5-2, which places them 27th in the NHL in points percentage during that span. They have scored just 22 goals in those 10 games, an average of 2.2 per game, which ranks them 29th in the NHL.

There are several reasons for the goal drought. One of them is the lack of production from their veteran forwards. Second, their terrible power play.

The Flames’ key forwards need to be much more productive if this team wants to stay in the race for a wild card spot. These players are Nazem Kadri, Jonathan Huberdeau, Andrei Kuzmenko, Connor Zary, Yegor Sharangovich and Martin Pospisil.
