Bill Simmons explains why dollars have ‘no chance’ of improving through trade

The Milwaukee Bucks are off to one of the worst starts they’ve had in quite a long time. They are currently 2-8 and have shown no signs of improvement outside of their star players, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

This has been a nightmare start for the Bucks, and the only way this team can improve is through trade. On the surface, this seems like an obvious move for Milwaukee, but it’s much more complicated than that. The Bucks don’t have many intriguing pieces on their roster and no draft picks to trade.

Because of these obstacles they’ve dug themselves into, podcast and NBA columnist Bill Simmons believes the Bucks can’t improve even with a trade.

He shared his latest episode of the “Bill Simmons Podcast.”

“They have a great big man, they have an aging offensive star who doesn’t play defense, they don’t have anyone else on the team who could play defense and they don’t have a bench,” said Simmons. said. “Unlike the Lakers, there is no solution. I keep thinking about Doc (Rivers), who was in such a good position in Los Angeles. Then Giannis (Antetokounmpo) hung himself right in front of him and jumped on it, and now he’s on it I don’t see in any way imaginable that this team is a contender. I don’t know what the solution is, but it’s really difficult and without a solution.

The Bucks’ trade talks were already underway, but this early season struggle made those negotiations even stronger.

However, the Bucks are not in a position to make a trade, at least one that would increase their chances of title contention. The Bucks have just one first-round pick available to trade in 2031 and one second-round pick.

Additionally, the Bucks are past the second apron, meaning they can’t recoup more salary in a trade or overall contracts sent out. It is virtually impossible for them to add significant talent to this roster in the future.

Stranger things have happened in the NBA, so the Bucks would need a miracle to turn their season around and complete a trade that would make them a better basketball team.

A lot of things will have to go right for the Bucks, including a trade that is unlikely.
