LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WOLO) – The Lexington County Coroner has identified the person who died following a single motorcycle collision on US 21 near I-26, the coroner’s office said.

The collision occurred in the West Columbia area around 8:50 p.m. on November 9.

According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, Philip James Bugger, 49, of Gaston, was heading north on U.S. 21 when he left the right side of the roadway, striking several construction barrels and a highway sign.

Bugger was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the collision.

A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
