Women’s sports were women’s rights issue on the ballot

In this year electionsTHE Democrats ran on women’s rights. They simply chose the wrong right to run. All they talked about was abortionas if it were the only right that interests women.

Ultimately, it was gender ideology that emerged as the force animating women. It turns out that women don’t like being told that men can simply declare themselves women and, in doing so, take away their rights and opportunities.

The Democratic Party has made transgender policy a defining issue from day one of the Biden administration. On January 20, 2021, Biden signed a decree empty women’s sport. The order required any educational institution receiving federal funding to admit biological males to girls’ and women’s sports, if they self-identify as female. This was further reinforced by the rewrite of Title IX published in April.

The Trump campaign spent $37 million on ads focused on the harms of transgender ideology in response to the left’s obsession with it. And it resonated. While ordinary people, both Democrats and Republicans, care about basic issues like the economy and immigration, Democrats complain about letting boys compete in girls’ sports — and call anyone who isn’t a bigot a bigot. disagree.

Democrats were certain that the Supreme Court’s decision Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization was going to bring women to the polls as was the case in the 2022 midterm elections. They were certain that with enough fear-mongering, women would be convinced that they would be forced into red maid dresses and would be legally reduced to nothing more than giving birth. people – which is, ironically, what the Democrats call women.

But they went too far. Women care about abortion. But the number of abortions have increased since Dobbsand the vast majority of people believe in safety, legality, and scarcity and are disgusted by the “yell your abortion” team.

And the fact is that women actually care about other issues when it comes to their own rights. They care about protecting women’s sports and spaces above all else, and they know that if Democrats can’t define what a woman is, they can’t protect women’s rights.

Women don’t want their daughters to compete with men. The lives of Generation X and millennials were changed for the better by Title IX, which enshrined women’s gender-based rights in the education system, and they don’t want to go back.

Meanwhile, Democrats refuse to recognize women as a biological reality and a definable class. In 2022, during the Supreme Court Justice’s confirmation hearing for Ketanji Brown JacksonSen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) asked Jackson to define what a woman is. Jackson is extremely newsworthy answer: “I’m not a biologist.”

Jackson refused to answer a simple question because she didn’t want to agitate the “progressive” camp of the Democratic Party. If she had responded with “adult human woman,” she would have angered the LGBT activist class with her “trans women are women” tantrums.

No, that’s not the case. They are men. And women recognize that if you can’t say that these specific people with XX chromosomes are women and they deserve these specific sex-based rights, then men can steal some of those rights from them.

There’s a lot going on right now among left-wing pundits. Joe Scarborough, “The best Biden ever” famously, insists he has always said this issue is a loser for Democrats. On Hello Joe, he said: “(A)s we’ve said a thousand times on this show, Democrats should be smarter about women’s athletics. 85% of Americans oppose men who transition after puberty and compete with women. And I’m not just saying this the day after the elections. I’ve been saying this for years.

And he said it back in March. But to now pretend that this is the drum he is beating is an absurd attempt to save face when everyone knows he is relentlessly focused on Trump is Hitler.

And for the record, Scarborough also said in March that while no one wants men in women’s sports, no one will care enough to vote on it either. He called it “sound and fury” from Republicans, then said: “The social issues that matter most to people: abortion and guns.” »

He was wrong.

And some party members now accept it. After the elections, Representative Tom Suozzi (D-New York) said: “I don’t want to discriminate against anyone, but I don’t think biological boys should play girls’ sports.”

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) said, “I have two little girls. I don’t want them to get run over on the playing field by a male or former athlete, but as a Democrat, I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.” His involvement: I’m not afraid to say it!

But Suozzi and Moulton voted against passage of the Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act, which would have amended Title IX to recognize sex as based on biology. They are hiding now that the people have spoken out in favor of equity and women’s rights.

Pundits and Democratic lawmakers have stooped to waking up activists and betraying women in the process. Then they added insult to injury and called the dissident women fanatics.

As Chris Cilita, co-director of the Trump campaign, said: “Democrats have made this the defining cultural battle of the last five years. We finished it in this campaign. While this is true when it comes to elections, something tells me we’re going to be watching the Democrats fight it out for a while. Voters rejected their real message, not just the “message.” And they still don’t understand it.
