Even though they’re made from similar materials, Benchmade’s version is significantly lighter, a completely insane 2.02 ounces versus Kershaw’s more pedestrian 2.9 ounces.

Both knives are made in the USA, with reversible pocket clips and the like.look silver blades.

Emphasize the word “look,” because the blade is really where the similarities end. Benchmade’s is a 3.24 inch drop point made of excellent S90V super steel. Kershaw’s, meanwhile, is a 3.1-inch inverted tanto made in (wait for it) MagnaCut.

(Interestingly, Kershaw introduced MagnaCut to this knife earlier this year. Only now is it getting the carbon fiber handle.)

Although it could be argued that (obsessed with) super steel is overrated, there’s no denying that MagnaCut is the hottest steel in town right now, thanks to its unmatched blend of edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance.
