KARL: Now, obviously, Trump has promised – and you’ve talked about this a lot, you know, mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.

First of all, do you really think we’re going to see him round up and deport more than 11 people – sometimes he gives figures of up to 20 million people out of the United States? Is this really going to happen?

RAMASWAMY: Donald Trump’s campaign promise was the largest mass expulsion in American history.

RAMASWAMY: And he’s going to keep that promise.

And I’ll tell you let’s start very pragmatically, I think most Americans agree with that. Take the number of people who have entered the country in just the last 18 to 24 months. That’s millions of undocumented immigrants, illegal immigrants who really don’t belong in this country, anyone who has committed a crime – automatically, that already constitutes the largest mass deportation in American history.

Now let’s take it to the next level, not one iota, not one cent of government spending should go to subsidize this. Not to sanctuary cities, not to federal assistance to people who are in this country illegally, and we’re also going to see large numbers, in the millions, of self-deportations.

And so, these are pragmatic starting points that would effectively give us the largest mass deportation in American history –

KARL: But it’s nowhere near 11 million or more.

RAMASWAMY: We’re going to – we’re going to take it step by step aggressively. Donald Trump will remain faithful to his electoral promise, but in a way that respects the dignity of the Americans already present.

RAMASWAMY: And I think it’s offensive to use, when we have $35 trillion in national debt, government funds to subsidize this type of illegal migration. That’s half the problem.

And if an illegal migrant is no longer a client of the welfare state, you’re going to see self-deportations.

These are people who came to the United States with their parents as young children, who grew up here, who went to school here, and some of whom are very successful. If your first act of entry into this country broke the law, that does not entitle you to stay in this country. You are not allowed to enter the United States legally – illegally.

KARL: I mean, they came in at the age of two, three, five.

RAMASWAMY: Well, let me – let me just say a few words about that. I think we are going to be pragmatic. Here are some basic principles that all Americans agree with: Agreed? There is no migration without consent. Think of your nation as a body. Second, consent should and should only be granted to migrants who benefit the United States of America.
