Government to introduce Edutourism to enrich Ghana’s educational appeal – Adutwum

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, has announced plans to launch an “edutourism” initiative aimed at attracting international students and educators to Ghana.

This innovative program will combine educational experiences and cultural immersion, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the rich history and dynamic culture of Ghana.

Speaking on behalf of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Sunday in Accra, Dr Adutwum explained that the edutourism initiative will create opportunities for students from all over the world to participate in university programs while experiencing first-hand the diversity of Ghana’s heritage.

“We want to position Ghana as a leading educational tourism destination,” he said. “This initiative will not only enhance our educational offerings, but also promote cultural exchange and economic growth.”

Dr Adutwum highlighted that this initiative aligned with the government’s broader objective of transforming the education sector and making it more globally competitive.

He stressed that it was for this reason that Ghanaians should retain the NPP government for this to become a reality.
