Co-worker of mother who lost 2 children in fatal accident talks about that fateful night

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – On Friday, November 8, 2024, we brought you the latest news of a reckless driver who ran a red light, killing two children. The police have still not found this driver.

Today, as the family mourns, a colleague of the mother speaks about her tragic loss.

The Amazon employee who has worked with the mother of four for years was understandably emotional when talking about what happened at the intersection of Flamingo and Pecos.

He says it’s even more heartbreaking to know that two of his children are no longer with us.

“She loves her children very much. That’s all she talks about is her kids,” said colleague Earl Saulter.

That of the family GoFundMe A page created by the mother’s sister shares their story.

She asks community members to come together and raise funds for funeral expenses so that Cynthia Alvarado’s children, Dante, 11, and Taaliyah, 6, have a dignified funeral as she quotes, “Bury our beautiful little angels. »

The outpouring of support was not lost on Alvarado’s colleague.

“Even talking about it makes me emotional. I’m glad everyone rallied around her to support her, it’s just a testament to the type of person she is,” Saulter said.

But thinking about that horrible night, Saulter worries about the young mother and how the lives of Alvarado and his family changed in a split second.

“I just hope you know that she can get through this and get through this for her remaining children and for herself, more importantly,” Saulter said.

According to the GoFundMe article, Alvarado was involved in the fatal accident “caused by a stolen vehicle traveling at over 130 mph while trying to elude police.”

FOX5 has contacted Metro regarding these claims and will update this story when we hear back.

But we do know that the driver of a Lexus drove through the intersection at a red light, hitting Alvarado’s SUV and pushing him into two other cars.

The driver of the Lexus left the scene and police are still searching for him.

Saulter has a message for the person behind the wheel. “It was a heinous crime and a terrible situation. I’m still honest, I don’t even know because I feel rage. No one should have to go through something like this,” Saulter said.

Again, FOX5 asked Metro several questions about this case after hours.

Most importantly, was the car stolen, was there a chase and what about the two passengers in the Lexus might be able to identify the driver the police are still looking for.

We will update this story when we have those answers.

So far, the GoFundMe has raised more than $10,000. You can learn more about the family and donate here.
