PLAINVILLE, CT (WFSB) — Plainville police are searching for a suspect who fled a traffic stop Monday evening, nearly hitting a police officer in the process.

Officer Monthei initiated the stop of a Mercedes, Connecticut license plate BH-76241, on New Britain Avenue in front of the Volkswagen dealership.

During the stop, the driver fled the scene, narrowly avoiding Officer Monthei.

The suspect is described as a man and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
