It’s an evening made for fall homes, the summer sun continues Sunday

JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – Light the fireplace and relax after the spectacular Saturday we experienced in our area. While temperatures remained in the mid to upper 80s in our area, evening temperatures will cool us down a bit as the 60s return overnight.

The last Sunday in October will maintain summer temperatures under mostly sunny skies. A light breeze will not prevent the heat from setting in throughout the afternoon.

If the air seems a little foggy, it’s not a figment of your imagination. A volcanic eruption in central Mexico could cause volcanic ash to float into our area. NOAA Volcanic Ash Advisory Centers track the plume.

Sunday morning there will be localized fog in places, mainly inland. The fog could be dense and should dissipate around 9 a.m.

The beaches remain subject to a risk of moderate rip currents until Sunday. Temperatures will also be cooler along the coast.

Rain chances return to forecast Monday with scattered showers along the northeast Florida coast in the afternoon.
