But already, Trump has chosen several lawmakers to serve in his administration: Rep. Elise Stefanik as United Nations ambassador and Rep. Mike Waltz as national security adviser.

President Mike Johnson, when asked about the issue Tuesday, said he had spoken about it several times with Trump.

“We have a really talented Republican Congress…Many of them can take important positions in the new administration. But President Trump totally understands, appreciates math and it’s just a numbers game,” he said. Johnson said. “You know, we think we’ll have a larger majority than last time.”
