Since November 2023, Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sued and settled with his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, faced at least four other sexual assault lawsuits, resigned as president of Revolt Media, had his homes in Los Angeles and Miami. raided by Homeland Security, had his son accused of sexual assault and was indicted on three federal counts, including racketeering and sex trafficking.

Although nothing has yet been proven in court, it was a rapid fall and a dizzying stream of bad news for one of hip-hop’s first billionaires.

Cassie drops off a suit

In November 2023, his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a complaint against Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging rape, assault, forced sex with sex workers and that Combs blew up the car of Kid Cudi, who was dating Ventura at the time. The matter was resolved amicably.
Several accusers come forward

In the days following Cassie’s allegations, Joi Dickerson-Neal alleged in a New York lawsuit alleging the rapper drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991, then engaged in “revenge porn.”

Shortly after, an anonymous Jane Doe alleged in another lawsuit filed by Empire State that Combs and a second man raped Doe and her friend in 1990 or 1991, and that Combs physically assaulted Doe again a few days later.
A fourth trial in four weeks

A few weeks later, yet another trial accused Combes of sex trafficking and participation in the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl in 2003.
Combs resigns in the face of revolt

Amid the whirlwind of allegations, Combs resigned as president of his Revolt Media in November 2023.
Music producer files $30 million lawsuit

In late February 2024, Combs was hit by a $30 million lawsuit by the producer of his latest album, The Love Album: Off the Grid.

Lil Rod claimed that Combs forced him to have sex with prostitutes, submit to constant groping of his genitals and stole $50,000 from him for his work on the 2023 release.
Combs homes raided by feds

Combs had his Los Angeles and Miami properties searched by Homeland Security and local law enforcement in March 2024 as part of an “ongoing investigation.” The tycoon later called it an “unprecedented ambush.”
Combs’ son accused of sexual assault

In April 2024, the rap mogul’s 26-year-old son Christian was accused of “drugs and sexual assault” the steward on a luxury yacht that the family rented at the end of 2022.

The elder Combs is also a defendant, named for allegedly turning what was supposed to be a “wholesome family vacation” into a place of “illegal drug use, sex work and general chaos.”
Assault video surfaces in a hotel

Diddy apologizes, Cassie doesn’t accept

Shortly after the hotel video surfaced, Combs, who had previously denied Ventura’s assault allegations, apologized.

“My behavior in this video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in this video,” he wrote on Instagrambefore saying that he had since “started going to therapy, going to rehab.”

Ventura, although a representative, called Combs’ statement an act of “pathetic despair” affirming that “no one will be influenced by his fallacious words”.
No prosecution for hotel beating in 2016

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón announced in mid-May that Sean Combs would not be prosecuted for the assault caught on hotel surveillance footage.

“If the behavior described occurred in 2016,” Gascón said, “we would unfortunately not be able to file charges because the behavior would have occurred beyond the period in which a crime of aggression can be prosecuted .”
Combs arrested in Manhattan

On September 16, Combs was arrested in New York in an action related to searches of the rapper’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami. He was taken into custody in the lobby of the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan by Homeland Security Investigations.

Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, later called the detention “disappointing” and linked to “unjust prosecutions.”
Diddy accused of sex trafficking, racketeering and more

On September 17, Combs was officially charged with federal charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

In response, he pleaded “not guilty”, but was denied bail.

The three charges could see him behind bars for life if convicted.
New sexual assault lawsuit filed
