David Pollack says don’t expect Georgia’s offense to be fixed in 2024

David Pollack was an All-American linebacker at Georgia more than two decades ago, but he also knows a little about offense and he can see that his beloved Bulldogs’ offense just hasn’t been quite right this season.

Pollack was a college football analyst at ESPN for many years before being fired by the network last year. So he’s also used to giving his opinion on all things college football. When it comes to his alma mater, Pollack is particularly passionate, and in this case, he’s not particularly optimistic that Georgia’s offense will improve in 2024.

“A lot of frustration when you look at Georgia and their offense this season,” Pollack said. “I don’t expect this to be fixed. … If you wait until Georgia changes and Georgia suddenly becomes explosive, I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Pollack also noted that Saturday night’s showdown against Tennessee will be at home and the game in general may look different when you’re at home. So maybe the Bulldogs’ offense is poised to bounce back against the Volunteers after last week’s dud at Ole Miss. Still, Pollack said that doesn’t mean Georgia is going to be cured offensively even if it beats Tennessee.

The Volunteers and Bulldogs will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, with all sorts of College Football Playoff implications dependent on the outcome.
