When it comes to shoesMost runners measure durability by distance. A solid example might last 300-500 miles before the midsole and outsole break and your legs start to feel it – one of the countless reasons why every brand in the world makes so much fuss on the foam and rubber present in his shoes.

The lifespan of Nike’s latest sneakers could, however, be measured at school.

This is because the shoe, called Cosmic Runneris reserved for children up to seven years old. And Nike has managed to withstand the rigors of one of the most grueling places on the planet: the playing field.

For the design, Nike focused not on the foam but on the upper, reinforcing it with a haptic print layer that serves as a buffer against errant scuffs. Although technology is omnipresent in Nike’s catalog, as with the Metconthe Cosmic Runner still remains a first in its genre.

“The Cosmic Runner introduces technology we’ve never used before in kids’ running shoes,” says Cal Dowers, vice president of Nike’s Global Kids division, referring to layered haptic printing. As such, it highlights Nike’s commitment to serving runners of all ages and needs, the company claims.

The shoe also incorporates elements typical of trail runners, such as a reinforced toe box and a full-length rubber outsole. There are also elastic laces for easy donning, coupled with a pull tab on the tongue.
