Governor Hochul Partners with 24 Agencies to Improve New York’s Home Care Program

Governor Kathy Hochul announced a partnership with 24 community-based home care providers in a new initiative to strengthen New York’s Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP).

The program is preparing for a full launch by April 2025.

Governor Hochul emphasized the partnership’s goal of supporting both caregivers and those who rely on home care services, ensuring the long-term stability of CDPAP.

Hochul said, “With a network of diverse partners, we are committed to providing the personalized, culturally sensitive care New Yorkers need. This transition will focus on direct engagement with home care users, caregivers and stakeholders to create a stronger future for CDPAP. »

A comprehensive, multilingual communications plan will ensure that home care users and their families understand the services available to them.

Dr. James McDonald, New York State Health Commissioner, praised the program, saying, “This partnership will ensure that CDPAP continues to serve New Yorkers in need, providing them with healthcare high quality personalized. »

With this initiative, Governor Hochul’s administration aims to make CDPAP a stronger, inclusive program that allows more New Yorkers to live independently in their communities.
