Margot Robbie And Tom Ackerley are “very happy” to be parents.

Days after an exclusive source confirmed to PEOPLE that the barbie star, 34, and her husband, 34, welcomed their first baby togetheran insider shared with PEOPLE how the couple is adjusting to their new roles.

“They waited a long time to get pregnant, so it was almost unbelievable when the baby arrived,” the source said. “They both settled down to become parents.”

“They’re homebodies so it’s been nice to spend time just them, at home with him,” the source added. “They are so happy.”

In July, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Robbie and Ackerley, who married in December 2016 during a private ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia, were expecting their first child.

THE the couple met in 2013 on the set of French Suitewhere he worked as a third assistant director and where Robbie starred alongside Michelle Williams.

A year later, they began their romance and, along with Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara, founded production company LuckyChap Entertainment.

In a 2021 conversation with Daily mirrorRobbie said Ackerley often gives her a boost of confidence when she takes on a new role.

“I’m always nervous about starting a job. I have a total crisis of faith and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not even good at acting and I can’t do this,'” she told the media. “Every time I make a movie, I turn to my husband and say, ‘I don’t think I can do this.’ He says something like, ‘You do this every time. You’ll be fine.’ ”

In June, Ackerley also gushed about his relationship with Robbietelling Sunday time that the two have a good work-life balance and spend “around the clock” together.
