AC to address World Leaders Action Summit at COP29 today

The head of the interim government of Bangladesh and winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize met at least 20 senior leaders of different countries of the world and heads of international agencies.

Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus will address the opening session of the World Leaders Summit on Climate Action at the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) today (November 13).

“The senior advisor will deliver his speech at the opening session of the World Leaders’ Summit on Climate Action at COP29, likely between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (Bangladesh time) today,” the service said press release from the principal advisor.

COP29 kicked off yesterday (November 12) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Professor Yunus is currently on a four-day tour to Baku to attend the climate meeting.

Furthermore, Chief Advisor Professor Yunus had a busy day at the opening day of COP29 in Baku yesterday.

The head of the interim government of Bangladesh and winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize met at least 20 senior leaders of different countries of the world and heads of international agencies.

Professor Yunus met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish First Lady during the world leaders’ summit at the COP29 venue.

He also met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahiyan on the sidelines of the global climate summit.

Additionally, the Senior Advisor met and greeted Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohamed Muizzu, President of Maldives, Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan and Ramchandra Paudel, President of Nepal.

Among others, Professor Yunus met with the Prime Minister of Belgium, the President of Ghana, the Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of Rwanda, the Prime Minister of Albania, the President of Montenegro, the Prime Minister of Barbados , the vice-presidents of Brazil and Iran, the president of FIFA. and Director General of IOM.

Furthermore, Ahmed Eltayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al Sharif, visited Professor Yunus at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Baku yesterday morning.

The senior advisor arrived in Baku by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at around 5:15 p.m. on Monday, November 11.
