Google rolls out 4 new features for Chrome users on iPhones

Google has introduced four exciting new features for Chrome users on iPhone and iPad, aimed at making navigation easier and more efficient. These updates are designed to improve the overall experience, whether you are searching, shopping, or saving content. Here’s a closer look at these new features:

Google Lens with image and text search

Now iPhone users can use Google Lens in Chrome to search for images and text simultaneously. Previously, Lens allowed users to search using only an image. Now, by adding text, you can refine your search to get more specific and relevant results. Whether you want to ask a question about an image or refine your search by adding details like color, this feature helps provide more precise information. To use it, simply tap the camera icon in the Google search bar.

Save files and images to Google Drive and Photos

To help you manage storage on your iPhone or iPad, Chrome now lets you save downloaded files and images directly to Google Drive and Google Photos. If you want to store a file in Drive, select the Google Drive option when saving. The files will be stored in a new folder called “Saved from Chrome”, freeing up space on your device. For images, long-press the image and choose “Save to Google Photos.” Remember that you must be signed in to a Google account to use these features.

Shopping information for better deals

For users in the United States, Chrome now offers a Shopping Insights feature to help you find the best deals when shopping online. If Chrome detects a good deal on a product, you’ll see a “Good Deal Now” notification in the address bar. By tapping on it, you can view details such as price history, price tracking, and other purchasing options. To use this feature, make sure you’re signed in to Chrome and have the “Improved search and browsing” setting enabled. Google plans to expand this feature to more regions soon.

View address maps with one click

Browsing from Chrome just got easier. When you see an address on a website, you can now simply tap the underlined address to view a mini-map of that location directly in Chrome, without switching to Google Maps. This feature is being rolled out gradually and will be available globally in the coming months.

These new features aim to make Chrome more useful for iPhone and iPad users, by providing improved search, storage, shopping, and browsing options, all within the browser. Stay tuned for even more updates in the near future.
