After dealing with two hurricanes in 13 days earlier this fall (Helen and Milton), there’s serious buzz on social media – and now among local meteorologists – about a developing storm in the Caribbean. Models indicate disruption Invest 99L will likely receive a name (Sara), starting as a tropical storm and then strengthening into a hurricane.

As of today, it is officially an “area of ​​interest.” At this point, its strength and destination remain largely a guess.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, but tropical cyclones can occur outside of these dates. The peak of the season is September 10, with most activities taking place between mid-August and mid-October.

If it becomes Hurricane Sara and hits Florida, it will be on the list of late-season hurricanes, and perhaps even top that list.
