Police searching for a missing 45-year-old man on the Isle of Man have confirmed a body has been found in Douglas Harbour.

It follows a five-day search operation for Lee Scott, who was originally from the island’s capital and was last seen on Friday morning.

Isle of Man Police said although formal identification had not yet taken place, it was “strongly believed” to be Mr Scott.

An investigation into the circumstances of the death continues and his family is supported by police officers, the press release said.

The body was recovered from the port on Wednesday by specialist personnel.

Police asked people to “respect the family’s privacy and refrain from further speculation.”
