Erie Public Schools holds public forums amid superintendent search

(WJET/WFXP)– As the search for a new superintendent continues for Erie Public Schools, the school district is asking community members what they are looking for in a new leader for the school district.

With Superintendent Brian Polito set to retire on June 30, Erie Public Schools announced it will host two forums next week, one open to the public and one for parents, both set for hours different events on Wednesday, November 20, as well as an online survey for those who cannot attend.

The first forum will be open to the public where participants will be able to express the types of characteristics and qualities they are looking for in a new superintendent for the ECAT building located at 650 East Ave. from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

A second parent forum will be held later in the evening at the MLK Center located at 312 Chestnut Street and will run from 6 to 7 p.m. with dinner served before the event at 5:30 p.m. and free child care.

The school district also said it plans to hold a separate forum for its students, teachers and staff during the day.

Anyone who cannot attend the events can still give their opinion until November 24 using an online survey available. online here.
