Upcoming KTM Premium Motorcycles

KTM is expected to bring the 1390 Super Duke R, its flagship streetfighter to India. The motorcycle is powered by a 1,350 cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 188 hp and 145 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike benefits from WP semi-active suspension while braking performance comes from Brembo units with disc brakes at either end.

Additionally, KTM is likely to showcase the 1290 Adventure R, 350 EXC-F and KTM 450 SX-F motocross motorcycles. Additionally, KTM could bring the 890 Duke R and 890 Adventure R in the middleweight segment to take over the offers of Kawasaki, Triumph, Ducati, Suzuki and more. All of these bikes will arrive in India as Completely Built Units (CBUs), meaning the pricing won’t be as competitive as the brand’s sub-400cc range.

KTM’s premium motorcycle strategy

KTM India will share more details tomorrow on pricing, availability, after-sales service and more. Some dealers started accepting pre-bookings a few weeks ago and we should also hear more about the bike delivery schedule tomorrow. It will also be interesting to know the allocation number of these bikes for the Indian market.

This will be KTM’s second run in the premium motorcycle segment. The company presented the KTM 790 Duke in 2019 and the middleweight nude was on sale for a limited run. The bike was a full import and was discontinued at the end of 2020. The Austrian bike manufacturer will return to the premium segment after a hiatus of almost four years.

KTM is also expected to bring the next-gen 390 Adventure to India soon. The new adventure motorcycle gets a complete overhaul including a new design, bigger engine, new electronics and much more.
