Caitlin Clark may appear fearless on the basketball court, but the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year recently shared what she’s afraid of — and it might surprise her fans.

At the Annika LPGA Women’s Leadership Summit, Clark opened up about her biggest fear, likely to the dismay of cat lovers everywhere. “I really don’t like cats,” the Indiana Fever star revealed, according to Sports Illustrated.

When asked by reporters if her aversion to cats was due to allergies, she replied: “No. There was this black cat on my street growing up and he was so mean. I have scars. So I’m really afraid of cats. So, I’m sorry if any of you have a cat, but I don’t. I really like dogs but not cats.

Before playing the LPGA event on Wednesday, November 13, Clark also admitted that she was nervous about hitting someone with a stray ball – which almost happened after a golf ball was entered the fans as she began the tournament.

Clark went on to add: “I’ve tried to take as much time as possible to train, but there is only limited hope. Cross your fingers, pray.

The WNBA star was also asked about her comments at the end of the Fever playoffs that she was going to spend the offseason becoming a professional golfer.

“No, I practiced a little and just got the quote about becoming a professional golfer. Everyone thought I was serious. I wasn’t serious. I love him. I like being outside and being competitive with my friends,” she said, according to the outlet.
