FBI offers $25,000 reward to find person responsible for burning ballot boxes

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who set fire to three ballot boxes last month before the national election.

New video released by the FBI shows one of the ballot box burnings in Portland:

The FBI has released new video of a ballot box burning and a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

On October 8, between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m., someone planted an incendiary device on a ballot box in Vancouver. Then, on October 28, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., incendiary devices were placed on two ballot boxes, one in Vancouver and one in Portland.

The FBI says the suspect allegedly responsible was described as a white man, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with thinning hair.

Authorities believe the fires at the Vancouver and Portland polls are linked. On Monday afternoon, they released a photo of a suspicious car.

The FBI says he was seen on surveillance cameras driving an early 2003 to 2004 Volvo S-60 sedan that was dark in color, with dark wheels and a light-colored interior. The car does not have a Volvo logo on the grille. The sedan allegedly displayed a fake temporary Washington license plate on the rear and no license plate on the front.

According to the FBI, the suspect may have some experience in metal working and welding.
