Tom Morello vows to “chew off my leg” if Iron Maiden doesn’t enter the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Tom Morello is ready to introduce Iron Maiden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

“I’m going to gnaw my leg like a coyote in a trap if I can’t get Iron Maiden in,” Morello, 60, said during a recent appearance on The Eddie Trunk Podcast. “While there are many other deserving artists, Iron Maiden is, to me, the most glaring omission from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

“Iron Maiden are like the gold standard of metal bands and they’re not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. And I know Bruce Dickinson said he really didn’t care. Well, I care as a fan. This matters to me very, very much. So I’m going to do everything I can to get, (with) the limited influence that I have, to get Iron Maiden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The group has been eligible since 2005 and has been considered twice, both times without being voted on by the institution’s voters.

There is a chance that if the group is ever inducted, they will decline. In a 2018 interview with The Jerusalem PostDickinson said: “I’m really glad we’re not there and I would never want to be there. If we ever get inducted, I’ll refuse – they won’t have my dead body in there.”

He outlined his criticism of the Hall of Fame by saying, “Rock & roll music has no place in a Cleveland mausoleum.” It’s a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it’s dead. It’s worse than horrible, it’s vulgar.”

Dickinson, Di’Anno’s replacement, admitted during an appearance on Rich Roll that a cancerous tumor on his tongue almost forced him to find your own replacement.
