Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech swears Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight will end in early knockout

Four-division world champion Jeff Fenech is adamant his good friend Mike Tyson will overcome the 31-year age gap with Jake Paul and knock out the YouTuber early in their blockbuster fight this weekend.

Paul and Tyson are scheduled to meet in the highly anticipated fight on November 16, Australian time, at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

A crowd of more than 80,000 fans is expected, with boxing industry experts saying “Iron Mike” could pocket a reported $30 million.

Fenech is close friends with the 58-year-old boxer and previously trained the man who was once dubbed “the baddest man on the planet”.

Revealing his predictions, Fenech backed Tyson to achieve a comeback for the ages.

“If it’s Mike Tyson who I think is going to get in the ring, it will be over very, very quickly,” said the “Marrickville Mauler” Sports news.

“Obviously, I would hate to see my friend get hurt. Now that I’ve seen what he’s done and experienced (training for the fight), I think he’ll be just fine.

“If he does it right, I think it will take about a minute and his hand will be up and Jake Paul will be out.”

Fenech has previously outlined what he thinks is the ideal strategy for Iron Mike to adopt on fight night.

“I just told him what I think he should do: don’t hit with him (Paul), don’t hit at the same time as Jake Paul,” he said.

“Make him miss and make him pay.

“This could be over in 40 seconds if he throws a punch.”

Fenech has been there for the former heavyweight fighter during some of the difficult times in his life, supporting Tyson during Alcoholics Anonymous classes.

While some wonder if Tyson will still be able to compete against the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer, Fenech claimed that Tyson was in great shape heading into the fight.

“You don’t lose that power, and his greatest attribute was being able to make someone miss and then make them pay,” said Fenech, who trained Tyson before his exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr.

“He’s 58, but he looks amazing and he sounds great – he’s confident. It made me really happy.

Speaking about Tyson’s chances, he thought he would score an easy victory against Paul, knocking out the American fighter.

Having supported Tyson throughout his career, the American also returned the favor after Fenech fell ill earlier this year. Tyson reportedly FaceTimed the Australian boxing champion who held titles in three weight divisions.

Fenech, however, will not be able to travel to the fight in Texas next week. But he praised Tyson, saying: “To change his life the way he did, it’s incredible. He’s someone special.

Tyson, meanwhile, has shown shades of his former self in training, showcasing his frightening power and punching intensity after several videos of his training regime went viral.

Rafael Cordeiro, his coach, told NewsCorp: “I look at him and I see him doing movements, sometimes it takes me back to when he was 25. And I look at it and I’m like, “Wow. » He surprises me.

“The power is incredible. There’s no one like Mike, why? Because there’s no 57-year-old doing what he’s doing.
