Phoenix Suns change starting lineup against Sacramento Kings

The Phoenix Suns defeat Bradley Beal tonight in their battle against the Sacramento Kings, leading to the following starting lineup:

Tyus Jones
Devin Booker
Ryan Dunn
Royce O’Neale
Jusuf Nurkic

Beal was questionable before tonight due to a calf injury suffered in last night’s win over the Utah Jazz.

After the win against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, Beal hoped to play tonight while speaking with Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

“It just got tight for me. I think it was probably due to the knee injury from the last match… I should be fine, it was just a little precaution, I have one tomorrow,” said Beal said.

“It feels good. It’s still a little tight, but I should be fine tomorrow. We’ll see how I feel in the morning.”

Beal ultimately didn’t make it and was replaced by Royce O’Neale, who has generally been a strong piece off the bench in Phoenix, but was plugged into the starting lineup for the first time under coach Mike Budenholzer.

Kevin Durant remains out due to his own calf strain suffered last weekend, as he is expected to miss the next two weeks after being sidelined by the team. Collin Gillespie (fractured right ankle) and Grayson Allen (right hamstring soreness) have also been ruled out.

Booker is coming off a 30-point performance last night to push Phoenix to a 9-2 record, silencing some of the doubts surrounding his recent stretch of games that has seen him hot and cold at times. With Durant and Beal out, he will undeniably be the Suns’ best option in Sacramento.

Jones hoped to build on a previous 22-point night before falling flat at Utah on Tuesday, scoring just eight points and turning the ball over three times, the second time in the last three outings for one of the top point guards. safest in the league with the ball in his hands.

Dunn has had a tremendous start to his rookie campaign and will look to continue that momentum tonight.

Nurkic returns to the lineup after missing the first night of the Phoenix game with ankle soreness. Mason Plumlee did well in relief, notching a double-double. Nurkic has 10+ rebounds in the last four full games he has played and completed.

Tipoff between the Suns and Kings is just after 8:00 p.m. Phoenix time.
