Charles has long demonstrated similar resilience, but as Bond noted: “He is a man with a keen sense of curiosity and I am sure he hopes on his birthday that the visit in Australia and Samoa marks a turning point in his recovery. and that he will indeed have an almost full agenda of commitments over the coming year.

Camilla’s recent lung infection reminds us that neither of them are spring chickens and can’t be expected to do well in the coming year. Charles will no doubt have a lot to think about as he celebrates his 76th birthday,” Bond noted.

“He can be a very introspective man and some people were concerned that his cancer diagnosis would make him morose. But obviously he was positive from the start, he used his own illness to encourage other men to come forward for testing.
