“I still don’t understand how Frankie Ramdayal got so big!” My wife and I still wonder what was so special about Frankie. I still can’t see it,” Dheepesh said in the interview.
Kal Ho Naa Ho’s Frankie added that he wondered how people still recognized him with his tattoos and beard. Expressing his excitement as one of the popular movie sites called his character one of the most “iconic”, Dheepesh said he never expected this to happen.
Taking a trip down memory lane, Dheepesh said he was signed for the SRK starrer when he was at Jai Hind College in Mumbai during his modeling days.
After going through three rounds of auditions, casting director Puneet Malhotra told him that acting was not his forte – a fact that Dheepesh was also aware of. Dheepesh said he never had to “act” in the film and just had to be himself.
Interestingly, Dheepesh revealed that he and Saif Ali Khan used to work out and one day Preity took them out to party. As Dheepesh was a minor at that time, Preity got special permission to let him enter the party.
Dheepesh added that while it was amazing to stand and perform on screen with stars SRK, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, he was not star struck. “I don’t think I’ve ever behaved like a crazy fan,” the “Kal Ho Naa Ho” actor said.
