These details are necessary because when you specify web pages, ChatGPT will enable web browsing functionality and include web links in its article. However, if you use a very general prompt, it will probably default to generating its response from its database, which is not up to date.

For example, I asked the following:

“Can you help me find web links that I could use as sources for an article titled “Examining Abraham Lincoln’s Leadership Style Through Blake and Mouton’s Managerial Leadership Grid?”

If you are logged in but have a free account, the chatbot generates links, accessible just at the top of the response under the drop-down list saying “Number of sites searched”.
