BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – The forecast for widespread, soggy rain expected to average 0.50″ to 0.75″ over NCWV appears to be on track! Fortunately. Rain this morning and into the afternoon becomes more patchy as sunset approaches and overnight. A spotty shower for Friday with the best chance in the mountains that it will last into the evening and overnight. Temperatures will remain in the 40s across most of this part of the lowlands. However, we could dip into the 30s at some point in the mountains (Friday night and Saturday morning) and some could turn into freezing drizzle. Clouds will part for some sunshine Saturday but temperatures will remain cool. Warmer Sunday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s (mid 40s to 50s in the mountains). A weak front brings a few showers Monday, but we would be lucky to get 0.10″. Showers again later Tuesday with similar amounts. Both days will see highs in the 60s with more clouds than sun. Our next storm system could arrive Wednesday, but could wait until Thursday. This will eventually bring more rain showers. While my 7-day forecast ends there, there are signs that some very cold air could follow in its wake.
