Lakers’ special treatment of Bronny James will slow his growth

Bronny James probably doesn’t deserve to be in the NBA and maybe not even the G League. After a lackluster college career at USC, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick in that year’s draft.

Most point to nepotism as the reason Bronny was drafted. When he had a Guaranteed multi-year NBA contract (almost unheard of for later second-round picks) and playing time in the first weeks of the NBA season, everyone knew was because his father was LeBron James.

Now, new Bronny James news has surfaced regarding his availability in the G League and his preferential treatment which will likely hinder his growth in basketball.

NBA analyst Brian Windhorst reported this week Podcast “The Hoop Collective” some interesting news from Bronny James. The young guard may only play in the South Bay Lakers’ home games this season instead of traveling on the road with the team like a normal player.

“From what I understand, he (Bronny) will only play in the South Bay Lakers home games. He will only be a part-time G League player, and he will not ride on United Airlines and will not fly and play on these routes Honestly, I knew he was getting so much special treatment and nepotism – honestly it’s fine, I don’t care, it’s normal Now I think about it. fact that it is detrimental to him”, Windhorst said.
