LOS ANGELES – All the recent buzz around murder charges against brothers Erik and Lyle Menendez, sentenced to prison for killing their parents, has made their Beverly Hills home a popular tourist spot.

Netflix shows about their tragic lives have attracted new attention, as the Los Angeles District Attorney examines whether the brothers should be re-sentenced and released from prison, where they were sent 35 years ago.

Tourist vans arrive at Menendez’s house every day.

“It was horrible, what happened and everything, but it still attracts people,” said tourist Genevieve Nelson.

Newly elected prosecutor Nathan Hochman said he had to evaluate all the evidence gathered by outgoing prosecutor George Gascón, before recommending to a judge that the brothers be re-sentenced.

“I have to actually look at the thousands of pages of confidential jail files that I don’t have access to, thousands of pages of trial transcripts that go on for months,” he said. “I need to talk to prosecutors, law enforcement, the victim defense, family members. And only then will I be able to determine if the current resentencing request is just that.”
