DURBAN — A suspected drug dealer was arrested after police swooped on a 29-year-old man who was selling dagga to Lamontville high school students.

Members of Social Delinquency Prevention were informed of his alleged activities on Thursday November 14, 2024.

Man arrested for selling dagga to students

KwaZulu-Natal Police Spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said law enforcement found the man trafficking from a structure near the school.

“He was found with 10 students, including girls, and in possession of the dagga,” Netshiunda said.

“The students, whose parents were called, were given a stern warning before being released as the police prioritized their ongoing final exams.”

Students hospitalized for eating space cookies

Separately, about 90 students from Pulamadibogo Primary School in Soshanguve, Tshwane, were hospitalized after eating dagga muffins.

The incident, which affected students in grades R to 7, occurred on September 20, 2023. Gauteng Education The department said the students purchased what they thought were muffins on the way to school.

After consuming them, some students began complaining of nausea and stomach cramps, while others vomited.

3 men charged with attempted murder
