Tribute to beloved mother after fatal crash on the A30 in Cornwall

Jean Theobold, who died following a collision on the A30, was described by her family as a loving mother and grandmother to many people.

The family of a woman who died following a collision on the A30 in Cornwall have paid tribute to her.

They described Jean Theobold, 88, as an “extraordinary lady with a youthful spirit”.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called to Plusha Junction at around 08:25 GMT on November 7 following a collision between two vehicles.

Ms Theobold was confirmed dead at the scene despite emergency treatment efforts at the scene, police said.

The tribute said she was “fiercely independent” and “a loving mother and grandmother to many and will be greatly missed by her entire family.”

He continued: “We are traumatized and heartbroken by a tragedy and would like to thank the emergency services and all the kind people who comforted Jean in the final moments of his life.”

“Traveled the world”

Ms Theobold had previously worked at the UK Atomic Energy Authority as a personal assistant.

Her family’s tribute also read: “She loved keeping up with new technology, she could often be found in her home office surfing the net, sending emails and having fun with difficult puzzles.

“She was an avid gardener and loved tending her beautiful garden and also loved to travel. She had traveled the world and was planning her next adventure.”

Police said an investigation was still ongoing into the incident and asked anyone with information, including dashcam footage, which could help the investigation, to contact the force .
