Insurance video of bear damaging Rolls Royce turns out to be person in costume

Four people learn a harsh lesson about law and order after being arrested by the California Department of Insurance on fraud charges.

Investigators say the four men made different accusations, claiming a bear caused $141,839 in damage to their luxury vehicles, but it was actually a person dressed as a bear.

The four accused of insurance fraud and conspiracy were identified as Ruben Tamrazian, 26, Ararat Chirkinian, 39, Vahe Muradkhanyan, 32, all of Glendale, and Alfiya Zuckerman, 39, of Valley. Village.

The department says the three men and one woman said a bear entered a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost on Jan. 28, 2024, causing interior damage.

They provided images showing the alleged bear.

Detectives later discovered that the same suspects had filed two additional claims with two different insurance companies, with the same loss date and location. Both, for Mercedes vehicles.

Again, they provided video as part of their claims.

One of the insurance companies suspected fraud and contacted a biologist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, who reviewed the video and thought it was clearly a human in a costume bear.

Detectives say they found the bear costume at the suspects’ home.
