Florida AG Ashley Moody sues FEMA for alleged bias against Trump voters

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has filed a lawsuit against current and former state officials. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for allegedly ordering its workers to ignore storm victims who support President-elect Trump.

The revelation made headlines following whistleblower reports that FEMA workers Lake Placid, Florida, were asked to ignore the households of storm victims who had shown support for Trump.

“FEMA workers followed these instructions and entered messages into a government database such as ‘Trump does not sign any entries by direction,'” the lawsuit says. “According to whistleblowers, ‘at least 20 homes displaying Trump signs or flags’ in Lake Placid, Florida, ‘were ignored between late October and November due to the guidelines.'”

Moody vowed to investigate the allegations as Floridians still face the threat of devastating storms this season.

“Hurricane season is not over and the federal emergency response agency is embroiled in scandal – caught denying aid to Florida storm victims who support President Trump,” declared the Attorney General. “I am quickly filing a lawsuit to uncover the extent of this political discrimination and to ensure that all Americans affected by devastating storms are served, regardless of their political affiliation.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said it supported legal action and further called on other state agencies to take “any action necessary” to investigate and hold the alleged perpetrators of the crime accountable.

“It is unacceptable that the federal government discriminates against Floridians who I voted for Trump, and particularly egregious following a hurricane,” he said.

When Fox News Digital contacted FEMA for comment on the lawsuit, a FEMA spokesperson said, “FEMA does not comment on pending litigation” and provided a statement » that FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell posted over the weekend regarding the incident and the employee’s termination.

A FEMA spokesperson told Fox News on Friday that the agency was “deeply disturbed” by the fired worker’s actions, but insisted it was an “isolated incident.”

Fired FEMA Supervisor Marn’i Washington said her actions were within agency guidelines and were not isolated from her team and claimed FEMA was making her a scapegoat.

“Why is this happening to me? I’m the person who wrote down my superiors’ ratings and my rating in the (Microsoft) Teams chat was exposed by their research team,” Washington told Fox News. @Night” Wednesday.
