Pokemon TCG Pocket needs trading to be even better

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is one of the best surprises of this year. This is an extraordinary free mobile experience that takes the TCG based on the Pokémon and transforms it into a very stylish miniature version. Even though the mobile title is quite impressive upon launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket trading still needs to be perfect.

It’s a bit ironic that a card game with the word “trading” in the title doesn’t currently have one. In fact, it places more emphasis on the combat side of the card game than the actual business side. Fortunately, we already know that trading is coming Pokémon TCG Pocket at some point. The questions now are when will this happen and what will it look like?

Trading has always been a key aspect of Pokémon series, both in the main games and in the card version. This is one of the best ways to connect players together in a multiplayer format. After all, everyone benefits from being able to trade a mobile game like this. You might have cards I need while I might have cards you need.

Card boosters are completely randomized. You could get a beautiful Articuno EX card, but you’re using a Fire-based deck, so it’s no use to you. Instead, you might want a card like Charizard or Moltres EX. Trading would allow you to instantly be able to offer your Articuno EX for a card more suited to your particular deck.

This feature should work securely, however. I see two ways this could work. The first would be to allow friends to only chat with each other when both are online at the same time. You could show your cards to each other in real time, and maybe even be able to send messages or react in the trade window.

This method would require some security measures, such as multiple checks to confirm that you want to make a transaction so that you don’t get scammed. This is also why this should be reserved for friends only. On the other hand, the other method that I would like to see is Pokémon TCG Pocket equivalent of the GTS. A global trading network for the mobile title would be fantastic.

People could view the cards they want to get rid of and note which card they are looking for. This would need to be quite specific though, regarding rarities etc. But there might also be a way to send the person a personalized offer. Maybe you don’t have the card they want, but you have one of equal value. Maybe then the person could consider the exchange. However, if you have the exact card, you can initiate the transaction automatically.

This would be a good way for everyone to get the cards they need. It would also make the game pay less, so to speak. I don’t think Pokémon TCG Pocket is by no means a paid experience. However, there is no doubt that the more money you spend on packs, the more likely you are to find the best cards.

Adding this global trading system would allow the community to balance some. Everyone would have the chance to get the cards they need and want. It would also be great if the title ever removed some expansion packs, which hopefully won’t happen.

As for when Pokémon TCG PocketFor trades to be released, this must happen as soon as possible. The game was released at the end of October 2024. That leaves about two months in the year for its release. I think it is imperative that the exchanges arrive at Pokémon TCG Pocket before the end of the year. The arrival of commerce would greatly revitalize the community and would constitute a possible complement to an already very successful experience.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is available now for free for Android and iOS.
