November is Suicide Survivorship Support Month and Central Nebraska has resources to help.

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Central Nebraska has many resources for those affected by suicide loss or for survivors of suicide.

November is Suicide Survivorship Support Month, and the groups want people to know they are not alone. These groups primarily specialize in helping survivors deal with grief and feelings of guilt.

One such organization is the Central Nebraska Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors, or LOSS Team.

“Organizations like Central Nebraska Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors are working on the message that mentions that after someone loses someone to suicide, coming out and being able to support (them),” Friston said.

The LOSS team makes sure survivors know they are not alone. The team can even meet with people in a location of their choice to talk about what happened and the steps they need to take moving forward.

“(It’s) fortunate to know that they are not alone in their process,” Friston said.

If you or someone you know is in pain and needs emergency help, you can call 988.

If you would like to contact the Central Nebraska LOSS team, call 308-217-0359 or email them. here. You can also find them on Facebook.

You can join Team LOSS on November 23, National Suicide Survivors Day, at Penny Coffee Roasters in downtown Kearney.
